The first few days here have been exhausting, but so much fun. I've had trouble adjusting to the time difference and haven't been able to get much sleep, but I'm starting to finally catch up, so that's good.
On Thursday, I had my orientation class in the morning. After this, a group of us went to El Corte Ingles to buy a cell phone, and then grabbed some lunch at a local cafe. After lunch, we walked down el Paseo de Gracia. We saw two houses designed by Gaudi: Casa Batllo y Casa Mila. They were both so interesting and I can't wait to go inside to look at Casa Batlllo. Senora Angeles told us that Casa Mila is acually still used as a house today by an older man.

After this, we walked around Las ramblas again and saw the contemporary art museum as well as a few of the street performers. In the afternoons, there are lots of different people dressed in various costumes along the sides of the street. So far, my favorite has been the male version of Marilyn Monroe.

We then returned home for dinner...judias verdes con patatas, y pollo con pimientos verdes y rojos asados (green beans with potatoes, and chicken with roasted green and red peppers). Fue muy rico!
Wow....que buen empiezo. Espero que tus experiencias tal como tus eventos continuen siendo buenisimos.
ReplyDeleteMuchos abrazos.
